Safari books online

Had subscription to O'Reilly Safari Books Online since 2015/11. The only book I read is "Make: Fire" and did not finish it.. It is quite interesting topic. Otherwise, it worth the money just to go through the new book list, peek a few and skim some videos. I could have done better though. Previously I had the subscription via ACM membership, but did not read anything. Reading on the computer just kills me, it is too hard to focus when I read English so slow.

Got some really nice apps by the end of year. Amazon Rapids, very funny stories. Dr. Seuss Treasury, just found it, so good interactions and reading. Some e-book readers that support OPDS feed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPDS and could connect to Calibre. Let Calibre to manage my kindle.

Upgraded to Kindle Voyage and so far it is good
- the screen needs extra care because it is glass. Just do not drop it, unlike KPW I don't think Voyage could survive a drop
- but the body is magnesium which is super hard and protective.
- the screen is a whole piece of glass, which means one cannot find the touch area accurately like before. The PagePress buttons on both sides somehow help. It gets some used to
both sides are cold in winter. One is not supposed to use LED device (and that has batteries) in the winter cold wind, however. I like to keep it warm
- the backlight is really good
- the form factor is beautiful, really. The glossy part on top, in piano black, really shines. It is years before iPhone 7 got the "jet black" model
do not hold it too hard because the edge is like a little sharp
Anyone who thinks KPW is good enough should hold Kindle Voyage in hand, try it and try put it in a pocket, to feel it. (I don't think I'd ever buy a model like Kindle Oasis because its a little wide for my pocket.)
